Friendship Bread Starter

Today is Day One for my friendship starter. On Day 10... I can bake my two loaves of bread and share my starter with four friends! Have you ever done this before? I am interested in how many people have starter that they have had for years. I had some back in the 80's that I had acquired from a friend. I kept it for about 4-5 years and then I moved and gave it away. This batch is a keeper...I miss my friendship bread. :)

OH I wish I was near so I could get some of that starter. I had a starter in my fridge for sour dough for a few years. Then my hubby had a great idea...he cleaned out the fridge! But I am just south of you in Georgia.
